Position Summary
Another Chance is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Assessment Counselor to conduct comprehensive substance use assessments for individuals entering treatment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring clients are placed at the appropriate level of care based on clinical need and ASAM criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments using ASAM criteria
- Determine appropriate level of care recommendations based on clinical findings
- Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide clear recommendations for treatment planning and referrals
- Coordinate with internal clinical teams to ensure appropriate placement
- Communicate assessment outcomes to referral sources when applicable
Qualifications
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or human services preferred
- CADC or equivalent experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical documentation skills
- Ability to conduct interviews and gather accurate client history
- Professional communication skills
